Prague is one of the most charming cities in the world, also known as the Hundred Spires City. Its stunning architecture blends ancient styles with modern ones. You can get lost in the narrow, winding streets of the Old Town, admire the city from the Petrin Tower surrounded by one of many parks of Prague or just enjoy a coffee in some beautiful café.
Prague is not only famous for its architecture and history, but it is also full of mysteries and legends. Most of the mysteries arise when we look back to the 16th century, when the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II ruled from Prague. Alchemists were not welcome in most of Europe, but they were in Rudolf's court. With their arrival in Prague the hunt for the philosopher's stone, elixir of youth and much more began. Up to these days there are still many references to alchemists in Prague; you just need to know how to find them.
Let’s dive into one of the well known stories that talks about Golem, a giant being made of clay, which was created and brought to life by Rabbi Jehuda Löw. He was supposed to obey his master at all times and with his exceptional strength help protect Jews and assist with any physical labor. But once he had no tasks, he started to destroy everything around and therefore he was meant to be destroyed… but who knows, he may still be hidden somewhere deep in Prague's unknown places.
Alchemy is the application of scientific principles to magic so let’s try to find the perfect balance between science and magic through the West Coast Swing together!
